New HMO laws that affect Medicare HMO's:
Part 1 of new law - effective 2002, you can only switch
your health
insurance plan once between January 1, 2002 through June 30,
2002
(6 months). As of July 1, 2002 through December 31,
2002, you are
locked-in to your health choice (health choice meaning
- you can
either be in Medicare part A & B with a Medicare Supplement
or
Medicare part 'C' with an HMO).
Part 2 of new law - effective 2003, the law changes.
You can only
switch your health insurance plan once between January 1, 2003
through March 31, 2003. April 1, 2003 through December 31,
2003
(9 months), you are locked-in to your choice.
Based on laws being passed, you can no longer make the choice
to
change. This law has dramatically reduced your freedom of
choice
for health insurance.
With HMO you:
-Have to go to their doctors, specialists and hospitals.
-Get referrals to see specialists.
-Many times get denied care or treatment because all
medical
decisions are made by the HMO bureaucrats, NOT your doctor.
Did you know you can't sue your HMO in federal courts for bad
care
or denied care! They have a congressional shield from
liability!!
Are you tired of all your HMO
restrictions? Get ALL your freedom back!!
-You can go to ANY doctor or specialist anywhere in
the USA.
-Go to ANY hospital.
-NO referrals for specialists, you just go and see
anyone you want.
Your doctor makes all medical decisions!
-You get COMPLETE FREEDOM!!
Get a Medicare Supplement.
